Britain's First Queen Since Victoria: London: Princess Elizabeth, 25, who immediately became reigning sovereign of Great Britain on the unexpected death of her father, King George VI, posed for this study in September of 1951. Elizabeth, who is the first reigning Queen since Victoria, received the news in Africa and is expected to return at once by air to London.
