Alternate Titles
  • Says King's Death Increased Interest: The Rev. Ralph Abernathy nervously interlocks his fingers during an Atlanta interview at which he said volunteers and donations have multiplied for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference since the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who headed the SCLC. Abernathy, who succeeded King, said also that King's death intensified support, both moral and financial, for the slain leader's planned poor people's march on Washington.
